Jenkins Early Childhood Learning CenterJenkins ECLC enrollment is accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority given to current families, DCS staff, then the general public. If you are in a priority group, you must complete registration during your priority window in order to maintain priority status. If you register prior to your priority group, your registration will be deleted and you will need to re-register during the appropriate window. School Age Child CareSACC Registration Update We are currently accepting waitlist registrations and encourage families to join. As school-year plans shift, some families release their spots, allowing us to offer openings to those on the waitlist. Joining the waitlist secures your place when space becomes available. Openings can occur, but they are not guaranteed, so having a backup plan is recommended. After Care: We often see changes closer to the start of the school year, with some families notifying us in the final weeks that they no longer need their spot. We anticipate limited availability for new families. Dexter Community Education School-Age Child Care supports working families by providing dependable after-school care, child care on non-school days, and summer camp programming. Our state-licensed program serves children from Young 5 through Grade 6 and focuses on enrichment, recreation, and a safe, structured environment beyond the school day. Our experienced staff provide age-appropriate activities, games, projects, and both indoor and outdoor play. Children also have time for reading or homework, along with opportunities for free play to build social skills and explore personal interests. All programs operate in accordance with District policies and procedures. After Care After Care provides reliable, state-licensed care for students in Young 5s through Grade 6 on regular school days. Our program offers a structured, safe environment after dismissal, with time for snack, play, and age-appropriate activities in a familiar school setting. Non-School Day Care Non-School Day Care is available on most scheduled full and half non-school days to support working families. Care is not offered on district holidays or during Winter Break or Spring Break. The 2026–27 Non-School Day schedule will be posted when the 2026–27 school year calendar is released. Please visit the NSD page for more information. Registration Fee A non-refundable registration fee is charged once a contract is approved. If you choose not to participate after approval, the registration fee will not be refunded. Financial Assistance If child care costs are a concern, help may be available through the Michigan Department of Health & Human Services – Child Care Assistance Program. This statewide program can significantly reduce child care expenses for eligible families. When approved, the state often covers most—and in some cases nearly all—of the cost of care. School Age Child Care - Camp DexterSign up for 2027 Camp Dexter opens February for current School Age Child Care families Camp Dexter operates for nine weeks in the summer of 2027. We offer indoor/outdoor games, swimming, crafts & other tabletop activities, campers choice time, movies, field trips and more! The camp is operated Monday through Friday at Bates School. The camp is open to Dexter students who have completed either Kindergarten or Young 5's to incoming 6th grade in the fall of 2026 Camp Dexter Camp Dexter begins the Monday following the last day of school and runs for nine to ten weeks. The program does not operate during the final two full weeks before the school year begins. Camp activities include indoor and outdoor games, swimming, crafts, camper-choice time, movies, field trips, and more. Camp Dexter is open to students who have completed Young 5 or Kindergarten through fifth grade.
